Hillary Clinton to testify in House probe into Jeffrey Epstein

Former President Bill Clinton will testify on Feb. 27.

Both Clintons have denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal

activities, but lawmakers say they still have questions.

CHAPQUAWA, N.Y. — Rep. James Comer, who is leading the

House investigation into accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein,

said lawmakers will question former Secretary of State Hillary

Clinton on Feb. 26 about why Epstein raised money for his

family’s foundation and why his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell,

attended her daughter’s wedding.

“No one is accusing the Clintons of wrongdoing right now,”

Comer, R-Kentucky, told reporters before Clinton’s testimony

began at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center near her home

in New York. “But we have a lot of questions.”

But in her opening statement, she accused lawmakers of going

on a “fishing expedition” with someone who didn’t know

Epstein, rather than questioning the Justice Department officials

who prosecuted Epstein.

“If the majority were serious, the fishing expedition wouldn’t

have been wasted,” Clinton said. “What is being withheld?

Who is being protected? And why the cover-up?”

The congressional investigation comes as lawmakers and

women who accuse Epstein of abuse have forced the Justice

Department to release three million pages of documents from

his criminal investigation. But millions more remain sealed,

and President Donald Trump has said the country should move

forward.

Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal

charges of child sex trafficking. Maxwell is serving a

20-year sentence for conspiracy to transport minors for the illicit

sex of minors.

Critics of the investigation have questioned why more co-

conspirators were not charged.

Former President Bill Clinton will testify on February 27.

This will be the first time Congress has forced a former

president to answer questions, although presidents have

sometimes volunteered to do so.
