Obama silent on Trump's racist monkey post, cheers on US Olympic team
The power couple has rarely responded to Trump's provocation.
Supporters say it's an example of "when they go down,
we go up."
Barack and Michelle Obama did not respond to President
Donald Trump's racist social media post depicting them as
jungle monkeys.
But on Feb. 6, they did post a shared message of encouragement
for American athletes competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics
in Italy.
"To all the athletes representing @TeamUSA: I'm proud of you,"
Obama wrote about the Milano Cortina 2026 Games on X.
"Your talent and perseverance have brought you to this point,
and Michelle and I will join Americans across the country in
cheering you on."
The post had been viewed 41 million times as of Saturday morning.
