Venezuela announces massive military deployment to deter US invasion

The Venezuelan government said it is preparing its armed forces to repel any US aggression or military attack. This was stated in a statement issued by the country's Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino on Tuesday.The preparations mentioned in the statement include the massive deployment of troops and missile operators on land, air and sea. In addition, forces consisting of police, militia and civilians will also be deployed.

 

Tensions are rising over the entry of the US aircraft carrier Gerald Ford into the Latin American region. There are rumors that the US may take military action in Venezuela to overthrow the government of its long-time enemy Nicolas Maduro. And in the meantime, Venezuela said it was preparing its armed forces.The Pentagon confirmed on Tuesday that the USS Gerald R. Ford, an aircraft carrier carrying at least 4,000 sailors, had arrived in the Caribbean Sea.

 

In addition to fighter jets, it is carrying at least 4,000 sailors.In recent weeks, the US government has increased its military presence in the Caribbean region, citing training exercises and other military activities. These areas include Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago.The Trump administration claims that the troops have been deployed to “stop illegal drug trafficking and ensure the security of the country.” Trump administration officials have also accused Maduro of masterminding the activities of a Venezuelan gang called the Tren de Aragua, although the gang has a relatively small presence in the United States.However, Maduro and his allies accuse the US of carrying out such activities to achieve its imperialist goals.
