This is not the Middle East and our mission here is very different, US Secretary of State Rubio on Venezuela

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States

is ready to work with the remaining leaders of Venezuela,

if those leaders make the ‘right decisions’.

US Secretary of State Rubio said this on the US media CBS’s

‘Face the Nation’ program on Sunday.

He said, ‘We will consider it based on what they 

(Venezuelan leaders) do. We will see what they do.’

Rubio said that the United States does not want to get

involved in the reconstruction of Venezuela.

He noted that those involved in foreign policy think of

everything as Libya, everything as Iraq, everything as

Afghanistan — which are examples of previous US

interventions abroad. Rubio said, this is not the Middle East,

and our mission here is very different.
