Trump Publishes Photo of Detained Maduro
US President Donald Trump published a photo of Venezuelan
President Nicolás Maduro, who is currently detained by the
United States.
According to CNN, Trump posted the photo of Maduro some
time ago on his social media account, Truth Social.
Maduro can be seen aboard the USS Iwo Jima.
In the photo, Maduro, dressed in gray, is standing with a water
bottle in his hand.
Maduro's eyes are covered with a black mask,
and he is wearing what appear to be large headphones.
President Trump has stated that Maduro and his wife will be
tried in the United States.
Trump asserted that US courts have "a lot of compelling evidence" of Maduro's crimes.
President Trump stated that the United States will "govern" the country until
there is a peaceful transfer of power in Venezuela.
"We don't want anyone else to come into power and create the same situation that we've seen for a long time," Trump declared.
President Trump stated that the United States was prepared to
launch a second, "much larger attack" against Venezuela if
necessary. "In fact, we assumed that a second attack would be
necessary, but it probably won't be.
The first attack was so successful that we may not have to
launch a second one," Trump said.
