The army will not withdraw from the 'yellow line' in Gaza, this is the new border: Israeli army chief
In the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Palestine, Israel withdrew its troops along a specific border in the valley. That border is called the 'Yellow Line'. Now the Israeli army says that they will not withdraw from that border in the next phases of the ceasefire. This will be the 'new border' between Gaza and Israel.
Israeli army chief Yal Zamir said this during a recent meeting with Israeli soldiers deployed in Gaza.
Not withdrawing Israeli soldiers from the yellow line means that Israel will control more than half of the Gaza area.
Yal Zamir met with Israeli soldiers in northern Gaza. There, he said, 'The yellow line will be (Israel's) new border.
"This will serve as our front line of defense. Our operations will continue along this line. Large parts of Gaza are under Israeli control. We will not move from this line of defense."
